Day Trip to Nara
We spent the day exploring Nara Park, visiting its many shrines and temples, and, of course, seeing all the deer roaming freely in the park. They were everywhere! While incredibly cute, they definitely became bold once they spotted deer biscuits in our hands, sometimes getting a little too aggressive.
Visiting Todai-ji was especially impactful. The scale of the temple is indescribable, and the Great Buddha inside seemed to stir deep emotions in many visitors.
We ended our day at Kasuga Taisha, a Shinto shrine rather than a religious temple. Walking alongside the moss-covered stone lanterns and catching glimpses of the weeping cherry blossoms at the top made for a great ending to our time in Nara.
